Just for your info..
Our court date was Jan 7th of 2010. We were discharged 62 days later.
Everything went off with out a hitch. We were even complimented by the judge (and our lawyer) for the thoroughness and detail of the paperwork we submitted.
Of corse our credit scores are low but we are starting to try to build it back up. We were approved last week for a very low limit/High-ish interest master card. That we really don't want but feel like it's going to be necessary to help rebuild our credit scores.
We are living paycheck to paycheck, and saving even a little is difficult. But we are not going further in debt, not slipping further behind each week, and living within our current income. We are more aware of where our money is going. And feel like we are more in control of ourselves and our finances.
WE did not loose our house.
We still have a few mortgage questions occasionally, about the BK because we did not reaffirm and don't plan too.
We did not loose our cars. Basicly the only thing we lost was our credit rating.
WE sleep better at night. WE are not afraid to answer the phone, or get the mail. All creditor calls and letters stopped after we told them that we were filing bankrupsy and gave them our lawyers name and phone number. They were even polite. There was no big yelling matches or threats from any one.
None of the things we were afraid would happen.. happened.
Life just went on....
Good luck to all here. I know from experience this is a very difficult time. Just hang in there and do a good job on your paperwork...
