I just received a discharge on 1-10-11. However, along with my discharge letter from the BK court, I also received another letter stating that the discharge could not be mailed to Citimortgage due to an undeliverable address. This letter also states that I should be advised that dischargeability of a debt may be affected if a creditor fails to receive certain notices. My question is should I call my attorney Monday and give him Citimortgage's bankruptcy department address or do you think he is already working on it? I'm assuming my attorney received the discharge letter. I don't understand how Citimortgage can receive notice that I filed ch.7 bankruptcy and yet not be able to receive the discharge notice. This forum has really helped me through this process and all the advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I got the same letter with one of my creditors, basically was told it was up to me to notify them. After checking Pacer I discovered my creditor had been notified previously at 2 different addresses as they were moving locations, I guess the post office forwards mail for only so long, then just returns to sender. The court doesn't bother to check anything, they just know they have an address on file that they can no longer deliver to so you get the notice of undeliverable mail.
I would contact your attorney, and maybe check Pacer to see if in fact there is another address they are being notified at. The attorney should be able to fix this easily. In my case I did nothing except tell my attorney that there were 2 addresses listed on pacer for the same creditor so i knew they were still receiving info from the court.Filed Chapter 7 (no Asset) - Sept 2009
