7 months post discharge, get letter from Court

Order Approving Trustee's Final Report of Administration of Estate, Report of Receipts and Disbursements, Application for Compensation an Reimbursement of Expenses and Proposed Distribution

IT IS ORDERED that (Trustee), be and hereby is allowed the sum of ~ $1300 plus 506(c) costs and expenses of disposing of property of $0, as compensation for the services rendered by him as trustee ...

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Trustee's Final Report be and it hereby is approved, that the trustee be and he hereby is authorized and directed to make distributions as proposed by him in the Trustee's Final Report, that in due course he file the Trustee's Final Account of Distribution and Applicaiton for Closing and Discharge, and that thereafter the trustee be discharged and the case be closed
NOTE: I paid the trustee $5K to but back my stuff. It looks like he is taking $1300 and giving $3700 to the creditors.

Does this mean that this matter is almost finished for good , and once it closes, I can dispose of all my paperwork pertaining to the case?

It means your trustee is taking his fee and the remainder he is dispersing amongst your creditors. Yes, you are almost done. Your case looks almost like ours looked. But our creditors didn't get anything, because the the major part of what we owed was to the IRS. A couple of our unsecured creditors weren't happy, but *oh well*.

I know its is tempting to want to put EVERYTHING behind you and dispose of your paperwork, but I urge you to keep it intact for at least a year or two. You never know when some long forgotten creditor may slither out from under a rock. That has happened with another poster.

Good luck to you! We'll round up the Hamsters again on your behalf, when we hear that you are CLOSED.

I can dispose of all my paperwork pertaining to the case? ....my wife keeps EVERYTHING..and although I teased her about it in the past, she now has my full appreciation....it has paid off too many times...I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the times....
