Should we call Suntrust about reaffirmation papers?

We had our 341 on 12-16, no objections from creditors so far and No Distribution has been reported on Pacer. Our paperwork indicated that we want to reaffirm our car loan with Suntrust, but we haven't received the papers yet. Should we call Suntrust? Or how long should we wait? If they do not give us the option to reaffirm, could that complicate getting a clear title from them when the loan is paid off in October?

some banks don't require reaffirming auto loans.as long as u pay as agreed u should get your title when the loan is paid of in full

You have to have any reaffirmation approved by the court BEFORE discharge. So if you want to reaffirm by all means chase the reaffirmation down or get them to say in writing they don't want you to.

I think a key point is to stay in contact with Suntrust. Remember that they have restrictions on contacting you, so you/your attorney should initiate the communication. "There are only X days to get the reaffirmation filed. If it doesn't get filed on time or gets denied by the judge, I will still make the payments until the loan is paid off, is this a problem for you? Will you release a clean title?"

Congratulations on the 341 and no distribution report, so far so good!

Thanks, all! I will get on the phone to Suntrust tomorrow to discuss with them. Once we get our discharge and then pay the car off in October, we will be totally debt-free. That is going to be an amazing feeling!
