    changing mind on reaffirmation

I'm pro se and I filed chp7 on 10/12 and had my 341 on 11/19, my initial intentions at that time were to do a ride-through on my auto where I would indicate a "reaffirm" on my statement of intent but never sign any official paperwork. Since my 341 I've been able to purchase another car so I want to change my mind on the reaffirm and surrender the car back to the lender. At this point I have not signed anything as far as reaffirmation papers. Question is should I leave things as is, wait for discharge and just give the car back or should I amend my statement of intent now to "surrender" the car before I get discharged?
    Thanks

You need do nothing if you have not signed the reaf. It would be 'courtesy' to amend your documents however. I don't think it is legally required, but it looks better on your part to take any appearance of wrong doing away by informing the Court that you have changed your mind. 'Hub
