    Bank Account

    Hello,

I am plannning to file for chapter 7 bk in about 2 months. I have no active bank accounts. I had to close my last one as it was garnished by credit collection company on the basis of a judgement granted against me.

Is not having a active bank account a problem with trustee?

Should I open a new bank account?

    Thanks in advance.

I filed with no bank account..No problem..Just keep accurate records and keep reciepts/money orders in case they wish to question it...

      Hi pzm,

A levy by a collector is a darn good reason to not have a bank account if you ask me! I'm sure you are not the first person to file Bk w/o a bank account, the trustee shouldn't be surprised. Like packerfan said, just be able to show where the money went.

ps: I know it amazes people these days, but cash is still accepted most places....

        Thanks for the answers.

Packerfan: Did you have to provide bank statements of when you ever had a bank account?
