341 Meeting Friday-Trustee's Report of No Distribution

Hello:
I am a wreck and will continue to be - but after the meeting - which went fine - I checked Pacer Friday night and the Trustee had a report of No Distribution and he was finished with the case. So - what does this basically mean - and a dumb question - why do we wait 60 days for discharge? Can the trustee still come back and ask for some money on our car - attorney could not exempt it fully - appeared to be over 2000 dollars of what could be exempt. HELP

that is step one of a very excellent result for your discharge...it means that the trustee found that you had no assets they felt worthly of pursuing. that includes your car, money etc.

the 60 day waiting period allows creditors to file what is called an adversary procedure...that would mean one of your creditors would attempt to claim you committed fraud, or such in an effort to still collect what you owe them. the burden of proof on their part is high and usually, until you paid someone after the 90 days of your filing or didn't charge within 90 days of your filing date, you will be in good shape.

No assest, no distribution, you just wait out the 60 days (more or less) till discharge
