    Confused about schedule J

This forum is really awesome, but I read about stuff that I am wondering when I will be dealing with. Like schedule J, when does this come into the picture?

I have all the paperwork to fill out from the attorney and I have a semi generic place for all of my expenses. There are very specific questions and then "other", so I didn't think about things we do yearly or every few months - like haircuts, gifts, registration...I feel like I might be low balling everything because I am afraid they will question it (esp since we are over median). I even cringed when I put in the DirecTV (which is our only source of entertainment right now) because we don't have the bare minimal service. And I can't figure out how to determine medical expenses. We have a 2800 deductible each and this year I have met mine, my husband is $400 away from his. My company gives us $1700 on HSA (long gone), so I pretty much divided the difference of $3500 over 12 months and added a bit for OTC meds. $400. Does this sound right, acceptable for 2 people?
    Is this considered schedule J?

I think what you are doing right now is just feeding your attorney raw data. He will have it parsed and entered on your means test and then schedule J. Just to clarify, means test looks at your income and expenses, most of the latter IRS averages only, for the last six months. Schedule I looks at your income going into the future and J looks at your real expenses going into the future.
    Stopped paying: 08/10, Filed CH7: 08/27/10 , 341 & No Asset Report: 10/6/10, Last day to object: 12/06/10, Discharged: 12/07/10, Closed: 12/08/10
AHEM.....NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOT ADVICE, ETC, ETC

      Hi jlynn,

cssjoe has it right, put down everything you can think of and your atty will put it together for Sch J

Sch J is your post-BK expenses, it in the big pack of forms detailing your BK case. It comes after the means-test which has your pre-BK expenses and income.

I know my attorney has a girl who enters in all of our information, but I don't seem to have all the places to put details now...so I don't see how she will have all she needs. I feel like a lot of expenses are not accounted for. She said once we fill out all this paperwork, they enter it in and file it. She already did a means test. I should just trust my attorney, but I clearly have trust issues.
