Request for Notice?

Checked my Pacer today and the first update came through since I filed 10/11. It is a Request for Notice from Ford Credit and it looks like they want all notices etc to go to their local lawyer. It list the name and address of the lawyer. I have one Ford that they repo'd and one that we are hoping to reaffirm and are just about current on. I could care less about the repo car, we were going to surrender it anyway, but the other I need.

Is this a normal procedure, anything I should worry about?

Sounds like just what you thought, they just want notices to go directly to the attorney so that he can handle all the details on their end protecting or overseeing their interests.

"A creditor or its bankruptcy counsel can always file a request for special notice with the bankruptcy court in a particular case using a specific address for notices in that case. In that circumstance, the address listed in the case-specific notice request will be used instead of the NCRS-listed address. Thanks, that is what I figured. Do the car companies ususally get a lawyer for these things, I imagine so. I was just worried that they are only doing it so they can come take the car I need. I am really paranoid about that. I probably should not even go on Pacer and just let the whole thing take it's course and not give me a heart attack! They can take everything I own, besides my van. LOL

I've read things on here about Ford Motor Credit that aren't very flattering to them. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to repo if you aren't current. Do a search on Ford Motor Credit on the forums and you can find some of them. Might help you be better prepared for the possibilities.
