I have been tracking all of my actuals on excel for the past 6 months and for every one of my expenses I took the total amount and divided by 6 and my attorney told me I was good to go

Some categories I had actual information, some I put in the IRS allowed (food, clothing, out of pocket medical.) And in others I used a very close educated guess of my average monthly expenses. Using the 6 month only averaging would not work for me, as heating season is just beginning and the last 6 months were my lowest expense months of the year. I used old bills, checking account statements, and some educated guesses to approximate my monthly bills.

          Greg,

Hopefully you are putting expenses on Sched J, that is the only place you need them. They are your post BK expenses, educated guesstimates, something close to reality. Include stuff you forgot about paying b/c you have been broke; medical you have been putting off, dental, vision, car repairs, etc

Hopefully all the paperwork is coming together.

ps: Each court has slightly different forms they use, how they want captions done, how they want the creditors matrix formatted, order of documents, that sort of thing. These will be under 'local bankruptcy rules' or LOBR
