I hope I didn't screw up...bank accounts question

My husband filed BK on Sept 29th. He has a checking account at Bank of the West. We haven't been depositing anything anywhere even though we don't owe Chase or Bank of the West anything. At any rate we deposited his check on Saturday, then took out $40 of the new available balance (balance before the deposit was $2.00 - also we had $28.00 in the account at the time of filing and had since spent $25.00 before the deposit) at any rate, is there and if so what chance that they will hold these funds? Like I said we don't owe them anything in the BK. Please advise...with the holiday yesterday the deposit still shows pending and I am on pins and needles waiting for it to post tonight....probably going to drive right to the bank to withdraw it all.

kitty, I think you're overstressing. Bank of the West is not known for arbitrarily freezing accounts like Wells Fargo. You made the deposit on Saturday so you got the standard $100 available now, remainder on next business day. Next business day wil be today due to the holiday, so funds should be available tomorrow (tonight at midnight, but technically tomorrow.)
