Just met with our attorney for the first time since we turned in our paperwork and he said we qualify for Ch 7 and will be a no asset case. Woo Hoo! We were really worried because we are about $18k over median. Not to say we won't get scrutinized for that, but at least we made it through the means test. Now we just have to pay the rest of our attorney fee next week and we can file. I feel like we are finally on our way!

Great first step. By the way, Dee, we are over median almost the same amount as you, renters so not even mortgage to offset against, barely passed means test, squeaked by J, and our 341 was all of 75 seconds long with no issues.Stopped paying: 08/10, Filed CH7: 08/27/10 , 341 & No Asset Report: 10/6/10, Last day to object: 12/06/10, Discharged: 12/07/10, Closed: 12/08/10
AHEM.....NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOT ADVICE, ETC, ETC

I am curious how the over median filers get by on schedule J with legitimate expenses. I am under median income for my state. I pass the means test obviously because I am under median but having a hard time with schedule J. Last week my attorney asked for documentation for some of my expenses (which I sent) now I have a meeting with him tonight to hopefully sign my petition.Retained Attorney June 25, 2010, Filed Chapter 7 Nov 3, 2010 (170k unsecured), 341 Dec 2, 2010 (1 minute of nothingness), Discharged Feb 1, 2011
