I did a search, and while there was one result that sorta helped, I'm still kinda confused.
My husband and I are thinking about filing Ch. 7 and all of this is kinda making my head spin.
My husband is an authorized user for a cc in his mother's name. I don't know if his SSN is on the card, but I'm pretty sure it isn't. She just got the card for us about 2 months ago so that we could use to drive down to see her (she lives 14 hours away).
When calling to get any information on the account, we have to give her address, her SSN, her zip-code.
Will we have to claim this card? Will his mother's credit get hit? Will his mother find out that we filed?
I'm so very new at this. We just started really considering it a week ago. We had always been way to freaked about the "Big Bad B" word and so we didn't even want to think about it for a long, long time. But we're coming around to the idea that we're much worse off in our current state than we are filing and "starting over".
Thank you!
