As part of my divorce, I am required to pay for my ex's car insurance over the next year or so. I realize that, since this is a court-ordered payment, it's non-dischargeable, and I'm pretty comfortable with how to list it on the various schedules.
My question is, once she's notified of the case does she have to file a claim or do anything at all? (I intend on paying as agreed.)
I plan on having a copy of the divorce decree handy for the trustee anyway, since I'm claiming the expense on my Schedule J anyway. Is that going to be sufficient?
Like I said, I plan on paying it anyway, but I'd prefer not to drag her into my BK case if I can help it.
