No fuss, no muss debtor education course -- cheap or FREE

My 341 went without a snag and the trustee has since posted notice that there will be no distribution in my case. For all intensive purposes that leaves only the following requirements for discharge: payment of my last two installments of the filing fee and the pre-discharge debtor education course.

I would prefer a debtor education course that can be wholly completed over the Web with a minimum of hassle. Anyone know of such a course? I'm not yet working again so might have to wait longer to take the course if it is not dirt cheap or free.

I'll check to ensure that the course is certified for my district.

    Thanks.

    Not free, but cheap:

YOU MUST COMPLETE A POST-FILING DEBTOR EDUCATION COURSE IN ORDER TO GET A DISCHARGE. This course needs to be completed as soon as possible after the filing of your bankruptcy petition. The course can be completed online at http://nationalpersonalfinance.com/main.asp (for $14.95) or www.hummingbird.org (for $19.95).
    Stopped paying: 08/10, Filed CH7: 08/27/10 , 341 & No Asset Report: 10/6/10, Last day to object: 12/06/10, Discharged: 12/07/10, Closed: 12/08/10
AHEM.....NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOT ADVICE, ETC, ETC

do some forum searches. i ran into a free one but it takes time to get the cert. I used the one the lawyers recommended and got it same day. If you have time do the free ones.

        Hi cssjoe.

Thanks for the no-fuss no-muss tips. I had already searched for recommendations of a course that wasn't a pain in the a**. Though when I was in CA I'd had a quick and easy time of the pre-filing course, this second time around I ended up using an agency that made me call them so they could critique my budget and question my paying a rent higher than the national median for rent, which is way lower than a single person can rent at in many areas. The trustee didn't see fit to question my expenses, so why should have this crummy little firm? (Rhetorical, btw, all of you who get a sudden impulse to inform me as to why you think this pre-filing "counselor" would find it appropriate to tell me that I should get a roommate without knowing anything about my personal circumstances or whether I'd considered the option and rejected it for a reason.)

Anyway, because I was so turned off by that, I was truly looking for a specific recommendation to a firm more respectful of and less intrusive on their bankrupt clients. Online-only works for me.

Not sure I follow what you said empowered, but the 14.95 one I used is online only in case you were alluding otherwise.

I was explaining why I didn't just want to search. Another respondent to my query told me to search. Your response was more what I had hoped for.

            S'okay?

I used and loved 123debtor.com It was 9.89 for a single filer...the only catch is you have to stay on the site for two hours.
