Recently discharged Eastern District (Virginia) folks

How long after 'last day for objections' did it take to get your discharge? It's been a few days for me and I haven't been able to reach anyone at the courthouse. Does the actual discharge date get backdated?

Mine went several days, then I called the clerk at the courthouse (was always able to get her on the phone.....think her name was Julie Atkins?) and she removed a flag that wasn't supposed to be there and a day later, I received my discharge.

Looking at other cases in the East Dist of VA, it appears to me that, if you're not proactive and don't call, it could really drag out before you get the discharge......especially if it's an asset case, as mine was.....all of the asset cases that I see on the Cases summary are several weeks, or even a few months, past Day 60 and still no discharge. I'm glad I called. If you do, just be nice.

Yup I called the case administrator. Tried the clerk but too many options and option 9 said no one was available. I did check pacer before 5 today and nothing's changed.

Well I called my case administrator again and left a vm. Called me back an hour later and I am now discharged!!! wooohooooooooo! Yeah so it's the case administrator that you call, goes by the last 2 of your case number. The main number I called didn't get me anywhere and no one ever picked up. Did that many times. Too bad I still have student loans left!

Forgive the slight thread-jacking but I'm also in the same Virginia district. I was going to sign up for pacer today until it was talking about a charge per page. Can anyone tell me what you've bee paying to look up your case? We had our 341 on 7/20/10 so I'm thinking we're getting near the exciting conclusion of all of this. Also, what phone number are you calling to talk to the case administrators?

It wasn't much but if you don't use 10 dollars worth in any quarter you won't get charged. When you find your case look where it says Date of last filing. If that hasn't changed, don't look further, else you get charged per page. If you are impatient you will of course get charged. I used it to make sure the lawyer filed our credit counseling courses on time. Just have to remind them!

I made my last payment in September, heard nothing, made oct payment, heard nothing, called trustee's office after lawyer didn't answer and talked to my case person who said to stop paying it because we had an overage and that there was only ONE girl doing all the audits ...finally the lawyer told me to stop paying it and he was sending them a letter to file with the court that the payment plans have been met. I have heard absolutely nothing, nothing has changed but i'm not paying anymore, have it in writing from the lawyer..are they behind or something
