what if there are mistakes made ?

My husband & I filed Sept 13th, paid our attorney, signed a bunch of papers.

We did notice about 8 mistakes, like the name of our bank, husbands truck omitted, my second job not noted anywhere, etc. Some pretty big mistakes. Attorney scribbled on papers, said would be corrected. But how do we know? I never got to see the final filing.

What happens if at our court date there are a bunch of mistakes? Should I call attorney & ask to see a copy or is it too late to make changes once its filed? Everything felt so rushed :-( and I'm so stressed out

I had the same "scribbled on papers" and he assured me they would be fixed and submitted the next day. They were submitted but with some major mistakes, new mistakes that he made when calculating income to fix the old mistakes. I am having him file amended forms this week so we do not get to our 341 with "extra income" on paper...which does not exist in reality.

You need to sign up for PACER and check your paperwork online. There are numerous 'stickys' on the board about PACER, what it is and how to sign up for it. Read those first. Just be aware, that when you click on a link to read the documentation for your case, you will be charge $0.08 per page. Those charges do add up.

Of course you can always get copies from your attorney. You should already have had those; if you weren't given copies, shame on that attorney and keep a weather eye on him/her.

If there are mistakes, you can file amended (corrected) copies of your paperwork. It is a one-time fee of $26.00, unless the amount has gone up a little since we filed, and you can amend one item or one hundred for that fee.
