    Line 35 on means test

This is the line for Continued contributions to the care of household or family members.

I'm single and live alone, so I'm the only one in my household. I have/had cancer and would like to include the cost of airfare/travel to the cancer center where I'm being treated on my means test, if possible. I require quarterly re-checks, so I'll have expenses from two trips to include on my means test. I live in Hawaii, so the costs have been substantial.

I can show the court that based on the published literature, it would have been much, much riskier to have my surgery done locally rather than going to a major cancer center. Also, my locally done CT was off compared to the one I had done at the cancer center, where the radiologist was a specialist vs. generalist.

If Line 35 isn't the appropriate place, where else would these costs go?
Filed Ch 7 pro se Oct 2010 . Filed student loan AP pro se Feb 2011 . Discharged Feb 2011 . AP trial 1/10/2012 . $28K in student loans dismissed Jan 2012 . ECMC appealed. Appeal hearing 7/2012. Original judgment upheld 9/2012.

Line 35 is where you would put in any expenses you paid for the care of an elderly parent who was dependent on you. Line 31 is for health care costs, and I would argue that extraordinary travel costs for the sole purpose of medical visits should be included in health care costs. It either belongs there or in transportation, but I still think health care, line 31 is the way to go. Just my best guess.
I am not an attorney. I am just a fellow passenger on a sinking ship. Anything posted above is my opinion or best guess, and nothing more.
