US Trustee asks for documentation today- oh and wants it by Tuesday.

    US Trustee asks for documentation today- oh and wants it by Tuesday.

    Can I just call her up and say THANK YOU SO MUCH for notifying my attorney at 3pm on a THURSDAY of a Holiday Weekend that you want info within 4 days.


    She's asking for childcare and education expenses documented. Neither were high- I'm thinking under $150 a month, without having my paperwork in front of me- and we have 6 kids. One was home schooled. So, while I could see her questioning it if we were asking for hundreds of dollars a month, but geesh. I'm pretty sure we were being modest! I just want to get her face to face again and ask" REALLY??? You can not possibly believe our school expenses, with 5 of the 6 kids being of school age, are at least that much??". Then maybe I should show her that our back to school costs this month were about $200, and that doesn't include the $200 in "requested cash donations" the teachers have made that I have not been able to donate yet. As for documentation- I can print out the list of corresponding transactions for those categories we have in our budgeting software we use. That's about as good as it's going to get.

    I have a headache now. So much for enjoying the weekend.

    Sounds like you have the proper records documented. With so many kids I am surprised they are questioning the paltry sum. Just out of curiosity what state are you filing in?
    Good luck and I hope you try to enjoy the holiday weekend in lieu of this.

      This is the crap that KILLS me! C'mon! Do NOT let this ruin your weekend. Just a bump in the road.

        Maybe they are asking for documentation because it is a very low amount, almost unreal. Don't let this spoil your weekend, it sounds like you have what is needed to take care of this without much effort.

          They gave me 10 days to get a whole boxload of stuff together - it was a full time job for 2-3 days - and cost me $450 to get the bank to produce it all - deposit slips, cancelled checks, the lot - and that was just the bank stuff.

          Yours sounds easy to do

            We are in FL, middle district.
            I'm not going to stress about it. (ha!) Really, even if we didn't provide her what she wanted for those expenses, we would STILL be with zero DMI.

              Hang in there olivies,

              I have seen several posts from middle Fla complaining about p.i.t.a. trustees....

              You should take the school supply lists for all your kids and staple them together w/ the teacher requests....I only did 2 kids, I can't imagine 6 kids...and for $200 !! You are one smart shopper!

                Homeschooling 1 kid should cost over $150 a month, let alone school expenses for the additional kiddos! Holy moly, talk about a penny-pinching trustee!
                Filed Chapter 13 on 2-28-10. 341 completed 4/14/10. Confirmed 5/14/10. Lien strip granted 2/2/11

                  What is it about Florida trustees? Is it a blood sport down there? Almost every other case I read about trustees quibbling over the value of rusted out wrecks or sending people to the house to check out the value of the TV, seems to be from Florida.
