Maybe this has been asked before but we have been discharged for 9 days and it does not show a "closed" status. Can anyone tell me why this might be? I'm getting a little nervous about this.

From what I understand, in a CH7 the important item is the discharge. The closing is merely an administrative act by the court that does not affect you.Stopped paying: 08/10, Filed CH7: 08/27/10 , 341 & No Asset Report: 10/6/10, Last day to object: 12/06/10, Discharged: 12/07/10, Closed: 12/08/10
AHEM.....NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOT ADVICE, ETC, ETC

Yes, CONGRATULATIONS!!! are long overdue. I've been in and out of town, and so away from the computer, and I have gotten lax in my duties.....
You are due ONE VICTORY CELEBRATORY DANCE! Here you go:
"To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."
"Worry is the darkroom where negatives are formed."

Congratulations on your discharge!! Just to follow up on what Joe said. If it is a no-asset case then it is just an administrative task. If it is an asset case then it won't close until the assets have been turned over. So hopefully yours was a no-asset case and you are good to go!Filed Chapter 7 on July 30, 2010
