    Creditor added to my matrix

Anyone know if the addition of this apparent representative of American Express being added to my matrix is particularly meaningful or whether they're likely just watching?

American Express Centurion Bank c/o Becket and Lee LLP
    POB 3001
    Malvern PA 19355-0701

    Thanks.

If you had no relationship with Amex or any of their other brands (whichever they may be) then I wouldn't worry, I guess they're just "watching".

American Express is in fact my chief creditor.

Does anyone know if they routinely add the name of this LLP to the debtor matrix or if it has some special meaning?

      Thanks.

        attorney for creditor

        Hi empowered,

If it was a 'request to receive notice' I would say it was an attorney for Am. Exp. just watching.

But added to the creditors matrix sounds like a change of address. (To my knowledge you are the only one who can add a creditor to the matrix.)

You could check PACER or your court clerk to see if a change of address has been filed.

Thanks for your response tcreegan. Interesting information.

I saw the notice of this change by looking at my document history in Pacer. Does that change the picture?

As you probably know, American Express has numerous types of credit cards and lines. I had numerous of these but, as my Chapter 13 attorneys did before, used only one of them. I believe I've also seen recently some information saying that even if you have numerous lines of credit through the same creditor, you should just mention them once (and under one address presumably) on the matrix. That's basically what I did in just re-using the same address that was used to notice them for my Chapter 13 a few years back.

          Thanks again.

            change of address

            Hi empowered,

Am Exp uses that attorney firm in many of their dealings, inc. BKs

Can I assume you found a change of address filed w/ the court?

When a financial corp has multiple lines and offers, they get a different address for each. On top of that, they have different addresses for the billing dept and the receivables dept. Letter goes to corporate office and gets filed and no one gets the message. To avoid this, Am Exp. changes the address to include the lawyer handling the cases for that line(s) of product. Now all mail goes through the lawyer who then knows who in the company needs to know what.

It is a good thing, improving communication with a bureaucratic company.

            Good luck with this!

              Hi tcreegan.

I meant to respond to you when I first saw your response -- thank you. It's a bit disconcerting to see referrals to attorneys though I'm sure they're always there.

Thank you so much for confirming that it is very probably routine. So I know that things are going as they should.

Only a few weeks until my own 341. Hopefully no more bumps in the road.

              Cheers.
