My wife and I took a three-day trip to the beach. We stayed at a moderately priced motel. We only take one trip during the summer, and always stay at a place that is inexpensive. Last year we paid for it with credit cards. This year, I saved some cash and was able to pay for it. Was that a big mistake? Are we going to be regretting this soon? We haven't filed yet, so I wonder if we'll have to put it off just because I spent $330 on a room and had burgers and pizza while we were down there.
I know this seems like a luxury, but my wife has a fullt-ime job and is part time caregiver for her mother. This is the one time to get away and she doesn't have to think about being "on call" for her mom.
Selfish? Perhaps. But needed, for sure.
