What in the world?? Am in a parallel universe or something? I am really becoming skeptical about the legitimacy of this forum. Why in the world would someone who has been a member for just about three years...with over 300 post under their belt post something as asinine as this post? (Especially since they just posted another comment on a different thread telling someone else they shouldn't lie under oath). Really...what is going on in this forum? Is it for real....?

I am 26 and I have virtually NO assets. The only thing I have is a 13 year old vehicle and a few hundred bucks worth of clothes and other odds and ends. They didn't even bring it up.

You might be surprised. Though a lot of people in this forum do seem to have a lot of everything, not everyone has much by the end of the twenties, or even the end of their thirties. I didn't own a couch until I was in my early thirties, and didn't see a need to buy a car until much later than that. I have, however, tended to have more books than most would ever spend the money on. It just depends on the circles you run in. It's also possible that buy the time people become desperate enough to file bankruptcy they've already tried downsizing -- I'm sure the trustees see that as well as people who have a lot of assets to protect.

It's amazing how much good used furniture is on Craig's List these days, and for cheap. It seems to make less and less sense to buy most of this stuff new.

A forum member posted a question looking for responses/suggestions/advice. That does not make this forum legitimate or real? This forum does not condone fraud but that doesn't stop anyone from asking questions if there is confusion. There are some excellent replies to the poster in here. If the poster is posting something that bothers you (your other thread indication above), there is a PM feature in this forum to contact the member and complain or if you feel a poster is out of bounds, you can report the post by clicking on the report button on your screen under the posting.

bigtim6656, I do think there comes a point in time in life when ownership of a couch is mandatory... but I can't quite pin down when that is.

researchnerd, I like "Early Poverty" so much better than "shabby chic". And aren't they the same, I ask. Or maybe not. Maybe "shabby chic" is "Late Poverty" or "Early Middle Class". Not sure.

            Abondanza!
