Hmm...my 60 days are up this Monday, the 16th, so I signed on to Pacer tonight to see if there was anything new relative to my case. To my surprise, Pacer said I was discharged (yeah!) on 8/10 (five days ago). Further, the Court's notice of discharge was mailed out via first class mail on the 12th, so I should have that in hand by early next week. I thought creditors had all 60 days to object? But they discharged me six days early. Fine by me!! Maybe because the court rescheduled my 341 and pushed it forward a month (from May to June)?
Thank you to everyone who helped me through this. 'Hub was the first to offer welcoming words of sympathy and understanding. And smarty pants HHM, JustBroke, and BKDefender (one of whom is an actual attorney) were generous beyond measure with spot-on advice. I even made a few buddies with private messaging (you know who you are).
I remember what a state I was in when I first came here looking for guidance. "Terrorized" is not too strong a word. The phone was ringing off the hook, and I had not a clue what rights I had vis-a-vis my creditors, if any. The one thing I knew was that I did not want to spend the rest of my life being a slave to the banks. It was news to me that I could (and should) just stop talking to them!
I truly benefited from the concentration of knowledge here. What a great community. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!
