I was hoping to work for a few more years to pay off some cc debt. But it looks like I will need to retire soon (in a few months) due to a medical condition. I have a few questions with filing chapter 7 right after retiring. Currently, I can pay the minimum on my credit cards fine but I know that income will dramatically be decreased in retirement. Can I start the chapter 7 process now or do I need to wait a 6 months after retiring? Im quite stressed over this. I like to know what I can do now to smoothly go into retirement and not have a bunch of creditors harass me.
