Realizing that with my Chapter 13 dismissed my student loans had gone for some months without payments, I finally got it together to send in a deferment a week before filing my Chapter 7. Concurrently, I contacted the lender. This morning I had mail from them saying that I'm $500 past due, not as much as I would have thought but I think my payments on the plan were accelerated with the intention of finishing it once and for all.
In the event that they'll deal with me and on the remote chance that I find a job and start working again soon, would it be a problem if I started paying them again?
It would be after the 341 but before the discharge that this would happen, if I had the money and if my deferment somehow does not go through (so far they say they have no record of receiving it). The reason I would pay them, if I managed to find a job and cover pressing basic issues, would be to keep the loans out of default.
Thanks.
