Amending at 341

Are you allowed to amend at 341 meeting or should we do it beforehand?

We want to amend our expenses on Schedule J.
Not because we found out that we can add more to it because of the standards.
We can prove the amount.
We forgot to include other expenses.

Will this be a problem? We're at $447 dmi right now because we forgot to include other expenses on schedule J.

If you currently have a positive $447 DMI and you filed Chapter 7, I think you should amend your Schedule J now.

Did an attorney file for you or did you do it on your own? If an attorney filed for you he should have talked to you about the positive DMI. Yes, I would amend before the 341 just to eliminate any potential problems.

we're filing pro se. we are flat broke and cannot afford an attorney.
i filled out the amended forms and sending them on monday. i hope this will not create any problems for us.
we miscalculated some of our expenses and others were unaccounted for.
we're also 15k under median income.

Hi nomoneyhoney,

Amending is something you do by filing documents with the bk court. You can explain something to the trustee at the 341, but an admendment needs to be filed with the clerk of the court.
