    Filed Today.....Lawsuit

I filed today and along with my rather large debt, being sued was a big reason.....I have a settlement conference set for a few weeks from now, with a trial date a week following that. I know the law office as well as the creditors involved will be notified, but do I or should I do anything in regards to the lawsuit?

Also, any reason to show up on the settlement conference date?

If you file your BK before any other meetings you will not have to show to the hearings. Unless it a subpoena then you will have to show to that hearing. If you did receive a subpoena and you file BK before the meeting, call the attorney's representing the creditor and let them know you filed BK and the chapter. They will most likely call the meeting off.

      notice the court

      Hello bts,

It is probably overkill, but I would give notice to the court where you are being served of your bk case # and file date. Give the judge reason to dismiss the case.
