What did you need to bring to your 341?

I know ID and SSN, but was anyone required to proved other paperwork either at the 341 or mailed in before?

I am just trying to get an idea what to start pulling from my "files" ie:large rubbermaid totes in the garage. LOL

We just brought ID and SS card. Well, I also brought a copy of all our BK paperwork, pay stubs, bank account records, and the list of all our debts but we didn't need any of those.

ID & SS. I thought quite a bit about bringing the backup files. My medical was quite high but I had the documentation and then I thought that I probably wouldn't need any of that material so I didn't bring anything but ID & SS. At the last moment I thought, what if the trustee finished asking his questions and as we stood to go he says, "whats in the bag?" I says, "documentation and backup sir." He says, "let's take a good look at what you brought with you and why you brought it with you." Nahhh. If he wants backup, you'll have plenty of time to provide it.

Thanks for answering. I was thinking they would want bank statements, and tax records and bills and receipts. Do they just check all that stuff behind the scenes since they have your account numbers and ssn?

I don't want to be caught unaware when they ask me to produce a statement from months ago...my "filing" system is not up to that challenge on short notice.

I brought both of my SS cards (one with new legal name and prior name), driver's license with old name, name change paperwork from DMV, last month's checking and saving's statements, and all paystubs since filing in June. I wasn't sure if the Trustee would ask for additional bank statements, so I printed a year's worth, but all he wanted was the current month. Aside from that, my lawyer had backups of everything. He even provided a copy of the SS card for another one of his clients that forgot it.

Yeah, I left mine in the car and figured if the trustee asked for anything my lawyer didn't have I would run down and get it but I didn't want to open any cans of worms by dragging it all into the meeting room. DH was a little peeved that he had to save every receipt for that month and it just sat out in the car but I wanted to have it ALL "just in case".

We had our 341 earlier this week and all they asked for was our SSN Card and our Driver's licences. We brought nothing else, the trustee asked a few questions, but that was it.

Just ID and SS cards here too. I had some assorted BK paperwork with me but didn't need any of it. I would think that if they required records like bank or CC statements they'd ask for them ahead of time...most people can't produce those on a moment's notice.

If you haven't sent the trustee a copy of your latest tax return yet, you'll probably need to supply that to the trustee. I think the one in my case had wanted that 7 days in advance of the 341 - from what I've read on here, that is pretty common.

                    send tax returns

                    Hello Maine,

Federal rules require last two yrs tax returns to be mailed to trustee 2 weeks before the 341 (and any creditor that asks for a copy.)

In Colorado, in fine print at the bottom of the bk notice it said what to bring.

You can also call the trustee's office and they can tell you what he/she usually wants to see.

                    Good luck with your 341,

                    Tom in Colo
