    Filing today!

I am not new here but I haven't posted much of anything. I have been lurking around on this board for a while now just reading and pondering.

Well today I am meeting with an attorney and filing our BK. I am a little nervous but I feel that thanks to this forum I know what I am up against. We shouldn't have any problems(knocking on wood). We don't own a home and our vehicles are paid for(they are old and not worth anything either). The main reason that we have to do this is because of a garnishment. We had a vehicle repo'd in 2008 and they were already garnishing my wages at my previous employer and I really didn't have a problem with that but then I lost that job and now I am making a considerable amount less than before and they have started to garnish what little I do have. We are barely making it as it is, my husband was unemployed from 4/09 until May of this year. So now we both have decent income but we can't afford this garnishment(we have 2 kids and we have to pay for them to have a decent education because our local school system has received an F report card from the state of Ohio)

So today is the day. What can I expect? I know I am a little late asking this but I thought I might get a response or to while I am getting ready for this meeting. I have only talked to this attorney by phone but he came highly recommended by all my former coworkers(everyone in the department used him to do their filing!) I think I am just ready to get this over with! Wish me luck

      Didn't actually file yet

So I met with our attorney today and paid him in full, so now he begins the paperwork and we should actually have a case number by next Friday. I forgot to take our tax info(i have it but left it on the bed) and he wants to get my husbands paystub from this Friday. He agreed that this should be a pretty simple case; although he was worried about our expenses at first when we talked over the phone but once I put them on paper he said no problem.

He said he should have everything together in time to stop the garnishment from coming out of my paycheck next Friday!
