Let us know how it goes. From what I've seen on this board, most of them are pretty short. I know I had mine on Monday, and it lasted two minutes tops. The trustee called several for the half hour session I was in, and it seemed like they were all going pretty fast.
As far as SSD - If you're just now starting to apply - be prepared that it can take upwards of 6-18 months+ for approval and sometimes longer. Usually you are denied the first time, and must appeal; from first submittal to finding out if awarded/denied takes on average about 3-4 months. Then again, strangers things have happened and some people get approved their first go round if they have enough medical evidence and doctors support.
Went through this last year with my wife.
She was approved on the first try.
She got approved in like 3 months. But they won't start making any payments until 6 months. Then, after that there was another standard 1 month delay until checks actually started to come in.
As far as back pay, no idea. They haven't said anything about it with my wife.
It sounds so weird to be happy for you about being declined. lol.

yeah, not usually something you are HAPPY about LOL. I just wanted him to have his OWN loans.
Thats a good thing. It seems like most of the students I meet who are taking on their own loans care more about their education and how their money is spent. They learn responsibility quickly.
Not that all students whose parents pay for their loans aren't responsible or don't care about their education....just saying. It's easier to care about where money is spent when it is your money and your debt.
