Let us know how it goes. From what I've seen on this board, most of them are pretty short. I know I had mine on Monday, and it lasted two minutes tops. The trustee called several for the half hour session I was in, and it seemed like they were all going pretty fast.

        I THINK it went OK.
It was just us, our attorney and the guy asking the questions. Oh, and another couple waiting.

With the lady before us, he said, this is a no asset case, good luck ma'm.

with us, he said, you may step down, good luck to you both. An oversight on the no asset?
        attorney seems to think yes.

only thing he questioned was what we did with the $6000 tax return.

Then again, strangers things have happened and some people get approved their first go round if they have enough medical evidence and doctors support.
Went through this last year with my wife.
She was approved on the first try.
She got approved in like 3 months. But they won't start making any payments until 6 months. Then, after that there was another standard 1 month delay until checks actually started to come in.

As far as back pay, no idea. They haven't said anything about it with my wife.
          7/01/10 - filed!
          11/20/10 - discharged and closed

Since SSDI is exempt, my expectation would be that back payments would also be exempt. That is just my personal opinion and I am not an attorney.

It sounds so weird to be happy for you about being declined. lol.
I may be smarter than an attorney, but I'm not one. No legal advice here, people.

Thats a good thing. It seems like most of the students I meet who are taking on their own loans care more about their education and how their money is spent. They learn responsibility quickly.

Not that all students whose parents pay for their loans aren't responsible or don't care about their education....just saying. It's easier to care about where money is spent when it is your money and your debt.
