Getting an apartment - before filing

I already have a lawyer, yet I have not filed.

I am looking to move and the leasing office told me if I have an open BK case/a not yet discharged case they won't accept me.

I was going to file mid/late August, however, that is the exact time I need to apply for this apartment. Should I delay filing until after I get accepted to the apartment?

Would there be any issues in doing this?

And would the apartments be able to evict me if they accept me, then I file?

Get your basic needs like housing and transportation taken care of prior to filing.
As long as you're current on the rent when you file {and stay current} you won't get evicted.
