screwed up in preping for bk

Well crap!

in my preperations for filing for bk7 i screwed up. i had changed banks, easy enough. i then went online and changed all of my auto pays etc...
i even changed sallie mae for my school loans.

however when i did change my sallie mae information i selected online billing instead online auto billing. so my last payment came out 5/17 ish

i just realized this because i was going through and changing all my address for our new apartment and saw that it was late. so i went and selected the payment and bam it shows the right (new account) but nothing had been paid!!!

so i am 2 payments behind. i went ahead and paid current and now i have to wait 2-4 business days for it to reflect on the account so i can change the payment type to auto debit.

We changed bank accounts too since we did business with BOA. All our business. Credit cards, personal loans, mortgage... yikes.

So we switched to a local bank. We had to change direct deposit, all our bill pay stuff, his VA disability...

It was a huge pain and we took a lot of care not to miss anything. That said, it happens!

I'm glad to hear you accomplished all that with just one snafu. Could have been a lot worse!

haha, one snafu has turned into a couple. since i decided i would pay the school loans and bring them current, i forgot to account for the last payment i have to make to my lawyer.

so this might end up pushing my BK a bit further down the road. by about a week perhaps till i get paid again. right now we are in the middle of a move to our new apartment and have 500$ in the bank with a 292$ car payment left to come out before i get paid again.

talk about stressed. nice thing is i get paid early this month since the first falls on a sunday!

I hate it when that happens.

When I was still at BOA I had been using them for about six years. So I had three different "pay to" billpay listings for my electric bill. (I hadn't figured out how to "hide" pay to people yet.)

I accidentally sent off my payment to the account for two-houses ago account. I didn't realize it.

So in I get this refund. And I'm thinking, "wow, it took them that long to figure out I overpaid? Wow. But yay extra money!"

Meanwhile, my bill for the current house was unpaid/late AND I thought I had extra cash so I spent it!

Ugh! I was horribly embarrassed. Luckily it all worked out okay in the end. Took me a month to figure out what the heck happened, though.
