    Private school?

Because of our circumstances, I basically stopped paying the monthly tuition for the private school that my two sons went to. The school year was over at the end of May, we filed on June 4. I still have a balance on the tuition(these are not loans - we were set up to pay the tuition over the course of 12 months). Is this something that would be dischargeable? I know student loans usually are not, but not sure if this would be a similar situation.

(I would ask my lawyer first but he's been pretty useless; hard to get a hold of, slow response, etc.)

You can list everything, it's a contract and you owe them money. Here's the question though: Are the kids going back? That would be the problem!

It is dischargeable, but as was pointed out, the school would be within its rights to deny admission for next year if that is your plan.

Thanks for your replies. No, definitely not going back. That was one huge expense that needed to be cut.
