Can I reaffirm mortgage after 341 meeting?

I want reaffirm one of my mortgages in order to raise my credit score as soon as possible. I have equity in this house and I know that I will not lose it to foreclosure. I am renting the house and having positive cash flow.

How would I reaffirm after my attorney has stated NO reaffirmation?

I am planning to sell this house when the market gets better and buy a condo with this money for my retirement, but that wont be for another 5 to 10 years.

I hope someone has an answer to this.

    Listen to your attorney.

Your CREDIT WILL recover after BK regardless if you reaffirm your mortgage. Also, mortgage brokers can use what is called "rapid re-score" which is a way for them to figure out your score "as if" you had been making your mortgage payments on time.

Your credit will be back to normal in less than 3 years, you don't need to make the stupid move of reaffirming your mortgage in order to accomplish that.

Never reaffirm for a trade line (period). Your attorney probably indicated no reaffirmation because you are in a non-recourse State, a non-recourse loan, or your District doesn't generally approve them anyhow.

Many Judges love denying them while telling the debtors that they are doing them a huge favor. They are!

You already are showing one area where you are exposed. It's a rental property. I have had rental units go for 6 months with no resident. It cost me dearly. Don't let this happen to you. There is absolutely no reason to reaffirm the mortgage.

Don't reaffirm for a trade line!
