    I'm filing, spouse is not....

Met with lawyer yest. and of course the questions are scrambling in my head after the fact... So anyways, I am trying to qualify for chap 7 as lawyer says there will be 70% chance so we will see. I have a leased vehilcle in my name I need it or some other car it is up in June 2011. Is it that they will most likely let me finish it or will it be included? What about my car insurance? I know they look at credit reports now but I used to work in the industry and nobody can touch my rate I will be upset if they drop me. And should I change home utilites (oil, exterminator, landscaper) to my husbands name or is this a no-no?

From what I have seen in the past as a bankruptcy preparer, your insurance company and utilities will not drop you. As long as you continue making payments on the utilities and your not trying to discharge 2 or 3 months of past due payments then you should be fine. Your vehicle that is leased, you may want to consult with your attorney about that. As long as you keep the vehicle current there should be no problem. Don't give them a reason to come and repossess the car. You will likely need a car in the future after the lease is satisfied. Something to consider is maybe it will be harder for you to finance a vehicle now that you have filed BK so it may be in your best interest to finance a vehicle now rather than having to finance one with poor credit and get a higher interest rate. Again, this is for informational purposes only and something you should consult with your attorney. Correct me on anything if I am wrong. I am here to learn and to help others.
