    Difference between Discharged and Closed?

    Hi everyone,

Would someone please explain the difference between a case being discharged & it being closed? I see in some people's cases many months pass between discharged & closed.

What needs to happen after discharge to have a case go to closed?

And when can (or should) I apply for a secured credit card? My debts have been discharged but my case is not closed.

I couldn't find this information in the FAQs. If I missed something, I apologize, and please direct me to the right posting.

    Thanks!

The only thing I don't like about that post is that it does not discuss what timelines are looked and why a close date is important or a discharge date is important.
