Can a company denies you of a promotion to a supervisor position if they find out that you are filing for bankruptcy or find out later that you filed for bankruptcy?

You cannot be fired solely for filing bankruptcy. Depending on company policy and if one is promoted into a management position, a BK could be an issue as many employment contracts contain a clause that if the employee files BK, they have to inform the company immediately. If this pertains to you and you may be up for a supervisor position, do your homework and investigate your company's employment policies which should be available to you via the company's employee intranet or from your HR Dept._________________________________________
