My girls are over 5 years old, so they've had several rabies shots...the last in May 09. But they'd had all their stuff regularly before that...so in practicality are they already enjoying three years of protection?
I was sent only one reminder by the vet's...maybe is that why they aren't going berserk on me?
The girls are already enjoying the 3 years protection. Some vets want to administer every year as there is LOTS of money in vaccines. Check with Cornell University, they have lots of studies on this. Personally, I'd get a different vet, because in my opinion any vet that recommends (and does) yearly rabies shots (when kept updated), does not work in the best interest of the animal.

There is lots of information on this subject available, research it.

Thanks for the info, and I will check out Cornell. I do remember reading somewhere once that vets push the yearly vaccines because it can be the only way they get cat owners to bring them in at all, which is not a bad thing in itself, to get a pro to take a look at teeth, overall health, etc. But I can remember when that little look-see was only $16 -- now it's easily over $60 in a major metro. And of course it doesn't include the shots or anything else they do, like lab tests. What really used to p*** me off was a $16 charge for clipping claws!! Gimme a break....

Did you check out Walmart last night for the 30 cent cans???
