bankruptcy in community property state

hello everyone,

I am getting married soon to a lady that is filing for bankruptcy because of a lot of debt.

should we wait until after her bankruptcy is discharged or would it be ok to get married after she files.

It seems her bankruptcy should go through with no problems.

The reason we need to get married now is that she has some serious medical issues that need to be taken care of. I have insurance and she does not.

I am guessing if you get married b/f discharge, your income/assets would count. I live in a cp state & am filing single but had to include all of spouses assets/income.
