How Many?

I was just wondering how many accounts others were declaring bankruptcy on.

This is mine:
28 Credit card accounts
1 Car
1 Medical bill

I counted them last night and I was mortified. I don't know how I got that many credit cards or how I have been paying on all of them for the last 5 to 10 years.

I had not officially counted, but lets see... 2 medical bills from last September (ER & the doctor), a medical bill from ages ago that really should have been covered by insurance but DH's employer dropped him to part time status and it screwed with our coverage, and then credit cards. I believe that is 24 - though it includes hubby & myself and some were small 'store' cards. And then a couple of misc. collections. 2 car loans, one we'll keep and one we'll have to coerce them into coming to pick up I'm afraid!

I never realized it was so many cards either. A little scary to think how we ended up with so many. Some were 'duplicates' like we each ended up with a Walmart card. Once we gave up & admitted it made no since to keep paying, hubby's only had $80-90 on it. A few others were under $500. Could have paid them I suppose, but really was throwing money away. We did stop using some cards when there was still available funds - so I don't feel like we abused the system.

About 10 of my credit cards are 500 or less than 10 are around 1000 and the rest is 2000 to 3000. Even though I had 28 cards that I was bankrupting on, I had 7 that had 0 balances.
