    still using credit cards

We retained an attorney a few days ago. He is telling us we can go chap 7 route, and stop paying credit cards.
The paperwork he sent us home with has a question, "Have you used a credit card in last 60 days and for how much, and for what?" I have been using cards to pay for gas, groceries and paying cable & phone. Once I stop paying the cards, then I will have the money to pay my household expenses and am looking forward to not using cards anymore. Will we be in trouble for the card use before we file? Should we wait to file for a few months after Ive stopped using the cards?

Ideally you should have no credit card usage for 90 days before filing.
04/01/10 - Hit rock bottom and knew we were going to have to file for bankruptcy and surrender our home. 12/14/10 - Filed Chapter 7, 02/09/11 - 341 Hearing, 04/14/11 -

I would stop using them. You know you are going to be filing for bankruptcy. I would pay at least one more minimum payment on each card that you have used and then stop paying.
