Long time reader (some what obsessed), 1st time poster. So I finally filed last week. I am over the median by about $25K if you look at my annual income. However, I only work 10 months out of the year, so if I file at the right time my 6 month income is more reasonable and I pass the means test. The atty I retained didn't bat an eye at my income. He felt that since I passed the means test, I was okay. When we did the schedule I & J, he prorated my annual income over 12 months and using the real numbers from my mortgage, car payments, etc. I was positive $6. Obviously, my pay stubs make it look like I make a lot more money than I do. Has anyone ever ran into this issue? How likely is it that the UST is going to put me threw the ringer? I can document all of my expenses with the exception of $100/month for donations ($60 of which is cash to the church's collection plate). Will they challenge that? How can I prove it? I have an 11 year car and I estimated $130 for monthly maintenance, which I think is low. I also listed $140 for toiletries, and $160 for formula/diapers for my infant. Are these expenses the UST could/would challenge? It's funny when you've lived pay check to pay check and try to do a budget... clothing budget? I've had the same pair of shoes for 3 years! I am just so afraid of being dismissed/converted. Thanks in advance for any for advice!
