So, my bk journey is ending!
To all those who are thinking of filing, or have just filed:
The best advice I can give you is...
1.) Don't be too hard on yourself for your decision to file.
2.) Recognize that you are among millions of people who have filed before.
3.) If you are honest the process can be almost painless.
4.) Once discharged, try to begin your fresh start with youthful optimism, even if you don't quite feel youthful anymore!
5.) Learn from your mistakes!
Many of us got here through some fault of our own. We can blame the economy or other situations, but we should still take responsibility for our financial woes. For me, I am walking away from this experience with a new outlook and a return to a more simpler life. I replaced my previous "new" truck that I surrendered with a 1997 Ford Explorer. I've done a lot of work on it already and will have to do more...but I'm proud of the fact that not only does it have my blood and sweat in it, it's the first vehicle in a long time that I can truly call mine. I hope to do the same in a few years when I buy a house again.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the great news and also give thanks to the many others on this board who have unknowingly helped me along the way!
