I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here.

Long story short. I've been wallowing in credit card debt for over 4 years. Barely scrapping by and staying up all night worrying over feeding my kids.
I had thought about bk but was terrified to lose my home, thought maybe things would get better, blah blah! Then I got a garnishment. 25% is a lot of money to a family of 5 barely making it anyway.

I found this forum and started reading EVERYTHING! Because of all of you here I decided I COULD file BK. It didn't make me a horrible person, and I wasn't alone.
I retained a lawyer Thursday. He said I was the most prepared person he has ever seen in his 25 years!! That is all because of you all here! We are hoping all paper work will be done and I will be filed tomorrow

So I just wanted to thank all of you for taking the time to answer questions and offer comfort to people. It has helped me so very much! While I do know I have a way to go I think that tonight I will sleep more soundly than I have in years!!

Good for you! Now you can breathe easier. For me, it was a tough decision to file our BK but so glad we did. Our new freedom and outlook on life more than compensates for any unpleasantness of filing BK. I look forward to your reports as you progess to discharge!

Yes, now you can breathe... Sometimes I think making the decision to file it the hardest.
