    Too late to cancel DirectTV?

I accidentally posted this in the 341 area...oops...

    Hey guys!

We filed in March, and had our 341 this week. The Trustee has already filed a report of no distribution. My question is...is it too late to change our DirectTV contract to cancel? If we did that, does that pretty much mess up any chance of going with another carrier (Dish?)

We are wanting to cut more bills and this is an option we considered.

    Thanks
    Mortmom

The simple answer is you can just cancel it and move to another provider that is more affordable for you. Once the 341 occures and assuming the trustee doesn't want to revisit anything in your case then you are basically done.

However if you cancel and are not out of the contract period this would likely be problematic down the road for you as they would negatively report on your credit.

Long story short: if you are out of the contract period feel free to cancel.....if you are still in contract period its probably best to just keep paying until the term expires.

If you signed the contract before you filed you can cancel it.
If you signed the contract after you filed you are stuck with it.
