Im sure this has been addressed on here at some point, but is there a guide or a site where you can get idea of what to put on the household goods and apparell papers? I mean half the stuff we got was from freecycle. My attorney says to list values as yard sale values, but I dont have a clue what they would be. For apparell do I have to list every piece of clothing and shoes my kids and I have? Or do I just put a general amount and then a general value?

Thanks for the advice my attorney did not give me any advice on what to list so in the household and personal items I didnt list much since it was just the first consultation. I thought we would get more into detail later but now we are reviewing the petition tomorrow and I feel like I need to list more than what they put on there. So I will make a list and have it ready for tomorrow. I have heard to do yard sale prices but all the old ladies always down talk me at my yard sales haha so really I get less than what I value my stuff! Good luck with your BK!

Our attorney only wanted a total household goods figure. In Iowa we have a $4000 exemption total for wife and I, so I said how does $3000 sound? He said fine and that was the extent of our inventoring. For some reason I only put down $100 for my wife's and my clothes total. I think we could have had up to $1000. Everything went through fine. Our attorney said the trustee in our district has very little interest in household items unless there was some big item, that would be easy to sell, like a new riding mower, etc. and that would be listed seperately anyway.
I should mention that we were under the median income, and that does make a huge differnce in how much scrutiny a petition receives.

For household goods, unless you've got a bunch of antiques they really don't care. As long as it's less than your exemption amount. Really don't stress over it. You will be asked at your 341, is all this stuff listed here true? As long as you can look a trustee (lawyer) in the eye and say "yes sir" then you pass.filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!
