He's the third one I've met with. He's a little young but very professional and has lots of bankruptcy experience over the past few years. He said I was a very easy Chapter 7. I'll be able to keep my house. No one is going to come out to my home and rummage through my belongings. (Huge relief because I'm in Florida and had read they do that sometimes) Thanks to everyone here and reading so many posts he said I was very informed. I think he was kind of surprised how much I've learned about BK in just a few weeks. Now I just have to come up with $500 so I can get things rolling. He said not to worry about any lawsuits just to let him know if they do come up. My income won't allow wage garnishment and my house is protected.
I'm tempted to start answering the phone again and just tell the collectors my intent. I'm collection proof. I doubt it will stop the phone calls though until I get a case number to give them.
Anyway, I want to thank everyone here. The stuff I've read over the past few weeks has put my mind at ease, allowed me to sleep, and given me hope at starting a new life.
Now it's just save and save some more so I can get this behind me.
