I know this thread is about a year old now.
But I really haven't been around much, and wanted to post a quick update.

This past year has been so great.
    No calls.
No crap coming in the mail.
Paying all my bills on time (or early)
No debt other than the mortgage and about $40 on the credit card I got last November. (and that is from filling the gas tank the other day)
    Money in the bank again.
The house will be paid off in about 18 months now.
Just pulled a couple of our credit reports tonight, and they both seemed to be reporting properly. Didn't have to do any clean up.
And the mortgage that we did non reaffirm is still reporting.
Also found a couple other old CC accounts that had zero balances before BK are still reporting as open and in good standing. I have no desire to see if they will actually work. Don't have the cards for them anymore anyway. But it does help knowing that there are still some positives working for me on the credit report.
And it looks like most of the medical debt got wiped off the reports completely. I know the bill collectors for them were showing before the BK when the lawyer pulled our reports. But they are gone now.
No idea what our actual scores are, as I really don't care that much.
I do know that our insurance rates have been going down, so our scores must be going up.
And that I almost qualified for a small ($1,000) personal loan back in January, but it was too soon after the BK. I actually had the money for the car I was buying, but thought I would give a loan a shot just to help my credit rating. Was told if it would have been a couple months later, I would have probably gotten the loan.

Just thought I would drop back in and let all the newcomers know, that there is hope. And life after BK can be so much simpler and easier. And you really gain an appreciation for that simplicity after going through all the hard times.
So, just do your best to ride out this wave of crap and know there is hope.
    7/01/10 - filed!

That is so awesome we are coming up on our one year anniversary ourselves.

We feel so blessed that we are able to pay cash for everything and my CC that I got for basically having to travel and get rental cars for business trips has only the balance of items charged to it for my most recent trip and will be paid off in full (as it is every month) once the bill comes on Dec. 1st.

I have not looked to see where my FICO is at because quite frankly I don't care... No need for a FICO score ever again...its a great feeling
