    Sprint contract question

Hello everybody! I wish I had found this forum before we filed-what a wealth of great information here!

Little background on me... filed a 7 in Feb.. had our 341 in March.. took all of 3 minutes-Trustee just asked us the required questions and we were out before our seats were even warm. Found out through our case manager that trustee signed off as no asset, no distribution a few days after that.

Tyring to get our financial house in order so looking to cut down on a few things. We have a few lines with Sprint- one of them is our data card for our in internet service. That is the only internet that we have and we would like to keep it because it travels with us and our jobs are both internet dependant. I called Sprint last week and asked then about their early termination fees and they are hefty. I plan on getting rid of the phones and going to a non contracted carrier for less money but was wondering that since the different lines all have different contrats and contract end dates, if I can cancel what I do not need anymore and retain the internet card as our only line.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this possibility? I have been with them for about 8 years now but I believe that now I am in BK I can get out of the early term penalties, am I correct? We live in So California if that makes any difference.

    Thanks all!

bluejeans: You would have your attorney contract Sprint and make it clear that you are rejecting the remaining liability on their contract for all of the lines but your data card. Problem is, they might refuse to allow you to assume the contract on the data card if you just rejected the other contracts. If you had early termination fees possible, then these should have been listed in the executory contracts/unexpired leases schedule in your BK petition. If they were not listed, then you'll need to file amended schedules, otherwise you may be liable for the termination fee when you terminate.

I am an attorney, but I am just not your attorney.
